The active ingredients we are using to develop Kite Patch can block mosquitoes’ ability to track humans. Our vision is that, once developed, Kite Patch will be a small, colorful patch applied to clothing that will provide protection against mosquitoes for up to a day. Small patch, but a potentially giant breakthrough.
Kite Patch technology is derived from patent-pending formulations that utilize breakthrough compounds found in food flavors and fragrances. We’re working hard to make Kite Patch an alternative to methods that contain ingredients known to regulatory bodies as harmful or toxic to humans, animals, or the environment.

Kite Patch technology is being developed by ieCrowd‘s Olfactor Laboratories, Inc.TM (OLI). OLI is developing a range of new technologies and products that leverage the company’s patent-pending technologies capable of blocking mosquitoes’ ability to detect C02, among other new developments. Considered a potential breakthrough in the fight against mosquito-borne diseases, the Kite technology platform is envisioned to be comprised of a range of products for use globally in the effort to protect humans from mosquitoes.
As an ieCrowd company, OLI benefits from ieCrowd’s business infrastructure and platform. OLI’s original intellectual property was licensed from the University of California Riverside (UCR). Before licensing by ieCrowd, the research benefited from grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. OLI has since filed for four patents and has benefited from collaborations with the USDA, U.S. Army, non-profits, foundations, consortiums, and governments.

We’re passionate about protecting children and the world’s most vulnerable populations from mosquito-borne diseases like malaria and West Nile virus. We’re also passionate about creating a future product that people will love using to explore the world.
To ensure our technology works well, we’re integrating elements that we believe could make the Kite Patch suited for children in Uganda, athletes, families on the soccer field, outdoor enthusiasts, and even workers in the suburbs of Manila.

The Kite Patch, still in development, is being designed to be a significant potential advancement in the global fight against mosquitoes and mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria, West Nile virus and dengue fever. It is our goal to make the future Kite Patch product durable and easy-to-use for a range of climates and conditions around the world.
If we are successful developing Kite Patch, it will be the world’s first product containing our breakthrough scientific discovery scientifically proven to disrupt mosquitoes carbon dioxide neurons. The Kite Patch’s compounds act as a non-topical, spatial repellent, blocking mosquitoes’ ability to detect carbon dioxide – their primary method of tracking human blood meals.
Our dream is that Kite Patch could replace age-old, cumbersome, and potentially unhealthy mosquito repellents with an easy-to-use, powerful, and long-lasting sticker applied to clothing.
Kite Patch’s technology stems from scientific developments initially developed at the
University of California, Riverside with assistance from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,
and the National Institutes of Health.
Our company’s work on the Kite Patch technology platform – including additional patent-pending applications we’ve filed – is currently benefitting from additional grant funding and collaborative agreements with U.S. federal agencies and other partners.
